Use a 4-inch reinforced concrete pad, hire a licensed electrician for 220V/50A+ service, confirm crane or forklift access, and plan for drainage away from the unit.

Site Selection

Choose a location with convenient access to your home, good drainage, and enough clearance around all sides for maintenance. Consider wind exposure and sun orientation for comfort and efficiency.

Foundation Options

• •Concrete Pad — Most common. Minimum 4 inches thick with rebar reinforcement.
• •Pavers — Attractive but must be installed on a compacted gravel base.
• •Reinforced Deck — Only if the deck structure is engineered to support 3,000–5,000+ lbs.

Electrical Requirements

Most swim spas require a 220V/50A or 220V/60A dedicated circuit. A licensed electrician should run conduit and install a disconnect box near the unit.

Delivery Access

Measure all gates, pathways, and corners between the street and your pad. Most swim spas require a crane or specialized delivery trailer. Book crane service well in advance.

Drainage and Landscaping

Slope the pad slightly away from the house. Install a French drain or runoff channel if needed. Avoid planting trees too close—roots can damage the pad and plumbing.

Permits and Codes

Check with your local building department for permit requirements, setback distances, and fence ordinances before beginning work.
